Scope of PracticeI am trained in the use of manual techniques to normalize the soft tissue of the body. My massage is intended to be a health-enhancing system that promotes body balance and efficient body function. I do not diagnose or prescribe for medical conditions.
Client Needs and BoundariesI am happy to adjust the pressure, temperature, music volume, work longer on an area, or move on, if you request it. You may choose to leave on as much clothing as needed for your comfort, you can refuse any massage method, you can stop the massage at any time. You are in control.
The breast and genital area will not be massaged under any circumstances. Permission will be asked before I work close to these areas, otherwise a professional distance will be maintained. Many of my massage sessions do involve working in the gluteal and hip region. I will discuss this before we begin your massage.
Client DressIf you are having a sports massage then a pair of athletic shorts for men and shorts and a sports bra or tank top for women is prefered. Any other type of massage you can undress to your comfort level.
Sanitation and HygieneAny equipment or linens that come in contact with the client will be cleaned in an approved method. All lubricants will be dispensed in a contamination-free manner.
Before and after each massage I will wash my hands and forearms and then use a disinfecting agent.
You need to inform me of any breaks in your skin before the massage session, so that I can avoid those areas.
Should either you, the client, or myself contract a contagious disease that could be spread during the massage session (such as cold, flu or other droplet or airborne infection) each of us should inform the other before the session begins. We can then decide whether we should reschedule for both our benefits.
